Dandelion Music
Playful Music Classes for Young Children
Development-Centered Music Exploration
Connection, joy, and FUN lead the way in our playful music classes. We know that young children gain meaning about their world through hands-on exploration, relationships, and PLAY. We provide a low-pressure, child-centered space to explore the world through music each week. We know you’ll love it!
We offer classes for Toddlers (ages 1 & 2), Preschoolers (ages 3 - 5), Kinder Plus (ages 5 - 7), and Mixed-Age (ages 1 - 5) in Bellingham, WA. Babies in arms (under 1 year) attend free with registered sibling.
Summer Session registration is OPEN!
Classes start the week of July 13th and run for five weeks.
We’re so excited to offer an outdoor Mixed-Age class at Fairhaven Park this summer. It conveniently ends at 11:00, just in time for the Fairhaven spray park to open!
Don’t see a class that works for you? Let us know! We would LOVE to add more classes at our downtown location or at another one of our beautiful Bellingham parks this summer.
What to Expect at Music Class
We’ll gather in a small group, kick off our shoes, and settle in to enjoy 30 minutes of hands-on music exploration, live instruments, rhythm and rhyme, playful tunes, movement, and connection.
We attune to the dynamics in each group, getting to know the children and expanding upon what we discover together. We build predictability into the routine while embracing emergent learning. We know that we are supporting the whole child through these classes, from their language development to pattern recognition and motor skills and so much more. We feel so lucky to do this work!
Hi there! We’re Joey and Rachel Boyd, the co-creators of Dandelion Music in Bellingham, WA. We’re so excited to share this new program with your family! Joey leads the music classes, while Rachel primarily works behind-the-scenes. We bring a shared passion for child development and the joy of music, as well as the drive to build community and foster a sense of belonging and connection. We know that there’s a lot of happiness in store!
